Welcome to The College Guest House, Isle of Cumbrae
The College is a Visit Scotland 3 Star Guest House. It is located next to Britain's smallest cathedral, The Cathedral of The Isles. Both were built at the same time in 1851 by the architect William Butterfield. The College was originally built for students of theology in the Scottish Episcopal Church.
The College was refurbished recently and now allows visitors to enjoy a unique combination of modern luxury and homemade meals in a building full of history and character.
It offers a selection of 16 bedrooms. These include single, twin or double rooms and two family rooms. Five of the bedrooms are ensuite and there is also a ground floor bedroom and bathroom which is specifically set up for those who are physically less able.
Guests have the use of our library and two common rooms. The Cathedral is open every day for services or simply quiet times and reflection.
The College is set in 8 acres of lawns and woodland and is just five minutes walk from the sea. There is a labyrinth on the lower lawn in front of the North College and free wi-fi in the library.
There are also concerts held in the Cathedral every Sunday afternoon, read more ».
